Since I occasionally (albeit very rarely) do post comments, I thought it worth posting my date of birth here. A few other details worth mentioning: I'm a U.S. citizen, but have lived in Bologna, Italy for the past 11 years, married to an Italian, with two kids (now 13 and 9) who are the lights of my life. I love to read, write, talk, be a good mom, wife, and friend. I feel best when I'm outdoors, but I enjoy living in the city, aside from the noise and pollution. I'm trained as a lawyer, but I'm taking a really long break from the practice of law, and it has been a good thing. I'm a happy person, a little emotional at times, but I generally forgive others and myself pretty quickly.

I started this journal several years ago, spurred on by a group of online friends from a message board that no longer exists. The group has disbanded, but sometimes I check in here to read a little slash before bed (hence the t-shirt in my avatar).
